Opening Party FIS Alpine Ski World Cup

All eyes were on St. Moritz on 6th February 2017, where the prestigious opening party for the most important winter sports event of the year was held: the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2017.

It was a particularly major honour for Nadine Imboden to be tasked with the creative direction, booking international artists, and the multimedia staging and choreography of the opening party for this significant sporting event.

The show entitled “Magic Snow – The Birth of a Passion” was based on snow and winter sports, and captivated spectators with a fascinating performance mix of light, dance, music, and song. A never seen before show on an interactive surface demanded a very high degree of athleticism, technique, and precision from the artists. In addition, skiing legends such as Vreni Schneider, Marco Büchel and Bernhard Russi brought unforgettable sporting moments back to life and filed into Kulm Park along with current skiing stars. Federal President Doris Leuthard also attended and delivered a speech along with OK President Hugo Wetzel. These different show elements – together with the 19 metre-high Edy ski sculpture – provided a touch of magic and transformed the opening party into a unique experience for spectators and athletes alike.

The opening party was held in Kulm Park in St. Moritz and marked the start of two unforgettable World Cup weeks.

Freddy Burger Management was the lead agency responsible for the overall planning of the event.
